{"id":164588,"date":"2024-04-16T12:00:46","date_gmt":"2024-04-16T12:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=164588"},"modified":"2024-04-16T16:17:06","modified_gmt":"2024-04-16T16:17:06","slug":"latam-announces-resumption-of-its-longest-nonstop-route-santiago-sydney","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2024\/04\/latam-announces-resumption-of-its-longest-nonstop-route-santiago-sydney.html","title":{"rendered":"LATAM announces resumption of its longest nonstop route: Santiago &#8211; Sydney"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>LATAM Airlines <\/strong>announced tuesday that it will resume nonstop flights between Santiago de Chile and Sydney, Australia, beginning October 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The route, which takes less than 15 hours and reduces travel time by 4 hours compared to the Auckland stop-over flight, will operate 4 weekly frequencies on Boeing 787 aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flights from the Chilean capital will take off every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 01:40 (local time), and from Sydney will depart every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 12:10 (local time).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2024\/04\/latam-mobilizes-more-than-20-million-passengers-during-the-first-quarter.html\">LATAM mobilizes more than 20 million passengers during the first quarter<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We are happy to resume our direct flights from Santiago to Sydney. This is a significant milestone for LATAM as we once again bring Australia closer to the people of South America with more direct connection options. From October, passengers will be able to choose from daily direct services between Australia and Chile, including four direct flights to Sydney and three to Melbourne each week, in addition to our flights via Auckland,&#8221; said Mar\u00eda Paz Villasante, LATAM Airlines Group Commercial Strategy Manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This direct route was available between 2019 and 2020, but was suspended due to the pandemic.
