{"id":164838,"date":"2024-04-25T12:00:36","date_gmt":"2024-04-25T12:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=164838"},"modified":"2024-04-25T14:23:52","modified_gmt":"2024-04-25T14:23:52","slug":"indigo-places-its-first-order-for-wide-body-aircraft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2024\/04\/indigo-places-its-first-order-for-wide-body-aircraft.html","title":{"rendered":"IndiGo places its first order for wide-body aircraft"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Indian airline <strong>IndiGo<\/strong> announced Thursday that it has ordered 30 Airbus A350-900 aircraft, its first wide-body order, which will enable it to further extend its wings and expand its network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exact configuration of the aircraft will be decided at a later stage, and the deliveries are expected to start from 2027. In addition to the 30 Firm A350-900 order, IndiGo has Purchase Rights for an additional 70 Airbus A350 Family aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2024\/04\/airbus-is-developing-new-system-to-prevent-runway-collisions.html\">Airbus is developing new system to prevent runway collisions<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, IndiGo operates over 350 aircraft. In June 2023, IndiGo placed the largest ever single aircraft order by any airline for 500 aircraft with Airbus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the current fleet, the almost 1000 A320 Family aircraft yet to be delivered, and today\u2019s order for wide-body aircraft, IndiGo is well positioned to expand and densify its network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s historic moment marks a new chapter for IndiGo and will further shape the future of the airline and for Indian aviation at the same time.
