The Abra Group<\/strong>, comprising Avianca and Brazil’s Gol, agreed to make a strategic investment in Wamos Air<\/strong>, a Spanish company specializing in aircraft leasing services for charter and wet lease worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This alliance aims to improve Latin America’s connectivity with Europe by increasing the coverage and operation of the Group’s widebody fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We welcome the signing of this agreement for multiple reasons. First, because Wamos Air is a jewel in the world of aircraft leasing and has global experience operating in multiple markets. Second, because its business model perfectly complements Abra’s vision and strategy to be a leader in air transportation in Latin America. And third, because this alliance will allow us to increase our participation with wide-body aircraft in other countries beyond Colombia,” said Adrian Neuhauser, CEO of the Abra Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wamos Air will benefit from the expertise of an experienced investor with a long-term vision, who will drive its operations to and from Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“For Wamos Air, this operation represents an incredible opportunity to evolve and grow with a group as relevant in the industry as Abra, with whom we have had an important commercial relationship over the last few years. This agreement will complement our activity through the opening of new long-haul routes, maintaining our essence as a wet lease operator of reference worldwide. We face this new stage with great enthusiasm and we are convinced that this alliance will represent an important step forward in the future of the company,” said Enrique Saiz, CEO of Wamos Air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wamos Air will maintain its management team, continue to operate independently under its existing business model and, as it has done throughout its more than 20-year history, will continue to focus on providing the best service to its customers around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agreement is based on compliance with European Union regulations on air services, ownership and control of airlines, and its implementation is subject to standard closing conditions for these types of transactions, including obtaining approvals from the competent authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
