As of next Monday, May 27, Venezuelan airlines may be prevented from flying to the Dominican Republic due to the cancellation of operating licenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The president of the Dominican Republic’s Civil Aviation Board, Jos\u00e9 Ernesto Marte Piantini, issued a statement warning of the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“All scheduled and non-scheduled passenger and cargo air operations” of Venezuelan airlines with routes in that country will be revoked unless all required documentation for the permits is submitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an interview with Uni\u00f3n Radio, Humberto Figuera, former executive president of the Venezuelan Airlines Association (ALAV), described the information provided by the Board as “confusing”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“That brings confusion because I don’t know if they are revoking operations and on May 27 there will no longer be any Venezuelan airline operating to the Dominican Republic or what they are revoking are the authorizations they had previously given, so that the airlines could, while they are being certified, continue operating.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Journalist Carla Angola published in her networks that “it would be a matter of reciprocity because Dominican airlines that travel to Venezuela may be looking to expand operations and the aviation board of that nation, apparently, would not have found a fluid communication with a new authority that was assigned in the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics of Venezuela, INAC”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that there is an imbalance between the air operations of both countries. “In 2023 the Dominican Republic would have received 4,500 operations from Venezuelan airlines, while Venezuelan airlines have starred in 1,000 operations to Venezuela.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airlines flying from Venezuela to the Dominican Republic are Laser Airlines, Rutaca, Avior, Sky High and Turpial Airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Wednesday afternoon, the Civil Aviation Board of the Dominican Republic informed that the suspension of flights between Venezuela and the island is no longer in effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
