{"id":167074,"date":"2024-07-22T12:30:26","date_gmt":"2024-07-22T12:30:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=167074"},"modified":"2024-07-22T20:46:41","modified_gmt":"2024-07-22T20:46:41","slug":"farnborough-airshow-luxair-buys-up-to-4-boeing-737-10-jets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2024\/07\/farnborough-airshow-luxair-buys-up-to-4-boeing-737-10-jets.html","title":{"rendered":"Farnborough Airshow: Luxair buys up to 4 Boeing 737-10 jets"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A year after acquiring 737-7 and 737-8 models, Luxembourg airline <strong>Luxair<\/strong> announced Monday a new order for two <strong>Boeing 737-10<\/strong> aircraft with an option for two more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The purchase of the 737-10 is another step towards Luxair positioning for its future with the investment in the latest airplane technology that will support Luxair&#8217;s growth plans and the decarbonization of our fleet,&#8221; said Gilles Feith, Luxair CEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 737 MAX family reduces fuel use and carbon emissions 20 percent compared to the airplane it replaces, providing operators greater efficiency along with fleet commonality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2024\/07\/aviation-capital-group-orders-35-additional-boeing-737-max-jets.html\">Aviation Capital Group orders 35 additional Boeing 737 MAX jets<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Luxair plans to operate its new 737-10s to offer passengers a minimum of 30-inch seat pitch. In this configuration, the airline can fly up to 213 passengers on routes stretching 5,740 km (3,100 nautical miles), resulting in more capacity and range to capitalize on growing leisure travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;With three members of the 737 MAX family in its fleet, Luxair will have the flexibility to use the right-size airplane according to the market demand,&#8221; said Brad McMullen, Boeing senior vice president of Commercial Sales and Marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Luxair currently operates a regional fleet of 21 airplanes, including two leased 737-8s and eight Next-Generation 737s.
