{"id":167168,"date":"2024-07-24T13:30:15","date_gmt":"2024-07-24T13:30:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=167168"},"modified":"2024-07-24T16:16:30","modified_gmt":"2024-07-24T16:16:30","slug":"airbus-partners-with-avolon-to-explore-future-of-hydrogen-aviation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2024\/07\/airbus-partners-with-avolon-to-explore-future-of-hydrogen-aviation.html","title":{"rendered":"Airbus partners with Avolon to explore future of hydrogen aviation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Airbus<\/strong> has announced a new partnership with aircraft lessor, <strong>Avolon<\/strong>, to study the potential of hydrogen-powered aircraft, marking the very first collaboration of the ZEROe Project with an operating lessor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Announced at the Farnborough Airshow, Airbus and Avolon will investigate how future hydrogen-powered aircraft could be financed and commercialised, and how they might be supported by the leasing business model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Airbus is putting significant resources into exploring how the industry can introduce hydrogen-powered aircraft and how it works on the ground with airports and airlines. The development of a viable hydrogen ecosystem is a key enabler of the industry\u2019s goal to reach near zero emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2024\/07\/airbus-a321xlr-receives-easa-type-certification.html\">Airbus A321XLR receives EASA type certification<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJoining the ZEROe Project is another step in Avolon\u2019s sustainability journey and we look forward to building on our long-standing partnership with Airbus to consider how the next generation of aircraft will be financed and commercialised&#8221;, Paul Geaney, President and Chief Commercial Officer, Avolon, commented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere is real value in bringing together industry players to help solve the challenges facing aviation. We know we can\u2019t solve decarbonisation alone and welcome Avolon\u2019s expertise and worldwide leadership in the aircraft leasing business&#8221;, Airbus Vice President ZEROe Project, Glenn Llewellyn, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Airbus is actively engaging with key partners at a regional and international level to facilitate the development of the hydrogen ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Airbus has also launched the \u201cHydrogen Hub at Airports&#8221; programme to promote the further expansion of hydrogen infrastructure in aviation. To date, 18 Hydrogen Hubs at Airports have been launched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Airbus ZEROe team is also actively engaged with more than 10 airlines to jointly study the deployment of hydrogen-powered
