{"id":167473,"date":"2024-08-08T14:30:31","date_gmt":"2024-08-08T14:30:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=167473"},"modified":"2024-08-08T20:27:44","modified_gmt":"2024-08-08T20:27:44","slug":"dubai-airport-records-record-passenger-numbers-in-the-first-half-of-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2024\/08\/dubai-airport-records-record-passenger-numbers-in-the-first-half-of-2024.html","title":{"rendered":"Dubai Airport records record passenger numbers in the first half of 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Dubai International Airport (DXB)<\/strong> announced Wednesday that it welcomed a record 44.9 million passengers during the first six months of this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With an 8% year-on-year increase in passenger numbers, the airport has consolidated its position as a preferred gateway around the world, driven by strong connectivity to major international markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The record results for the first half of this year underscore our strategic importance as a global aviation hub,&#8221; said Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2024\/07\/miami-airport-to-build-a-new-state-of-the-art-cargo-center.html\">Miami Airport to build a new state-of-the-art cargo center<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first half of 2024, India remains DXB&#8217;s top destination country with 6.1 million passengers, while traffic from China exceeded 1 million travelers, representing 80% year-on-year growth and a 90% recovery compared to 2019 levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DXB&#8217;s top destination countries after India are Saudi Arabia with 3.7 million passengers, the United Kingdom with 2.9 million and Pakistan with 2.3 million. Other important markets are the United States (1.7 million travelers), Russia (1.3 million) and Germany (1.3 million).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dubai International Airport is connected to 269 destinations in 106 countries, served by 101 international airlines, reinforcing the city&#8217;s position as a global business and logistics hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key figures<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The total number of flight movements reached 216,000, a 7.2% increase compared to the first six months of last year. The busiest month was January with 7.9 million guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DXB efficiently managed 39.7 million bags in the first half of the year, a 6.7% year-on-year increase, marking the highest-ever
