{"id":167965,"date":"2024-09-04T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-04T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=167965"},"modified":"2024-09-04T20:42:21","modified_gmt":"2024-09-04T20:42:21","slug":"cathay-pacific-to-resume-full-flights-on-saturday-after-a350-engine-part-replacement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2024\/09\/cathay-pacific-to-resume-full-flights-on-saturday-after-a350-engine-part-replacement.html","title":{"rendered":"Cathay Pacific to resume full flights on Saturday after A350 engine part replacement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Cathay Pacific Airways <\/strong>announced Wednesday that it will fully resume flights on Saturday after replacing faulty fuel lines on the engines of its Airbus A350 aircraft, a problem that forced it to cancel dozens of flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cathay suspended operations of its A350s after a flight to Zurich had to return to Hong Kong due to an \u201cengine component failure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An inspection determined that it had to replace the fuel line on 15 of its A350s, whose engines are made by British manufacturer Rolls-Royce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFifteen aircraft were identified whose engine fuel lines were due for replacement. Of these, six have already been successfully repaired and are ready for operation,\u201d the Hong Kong-based company said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2024\/08\/cathay-pacific-orders-30-airbus-a330neo-aircraft.html\">Cathay Pacific orders 30 Airbus A330neo aircraft<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe remaining nine aircraft will be repaired and are expected to resume operations by Saturday,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline has canceled about 90 flights, mostly regional routes including connections to Singapore, Taipei, Tokyo and Bangkok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other Asian airlines subjected their Airbus A350-900 and A350-1000 fleets to inspections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Japan Airlines confirmed that three of its A350 aircraft had no problems and that two others would be evaluated on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thai Airways and Singapore Airlines said Tuesday that they are conducting inspections but that initially there would be no impact on their operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Airbus and Rolls-Royce have so far refused to comment on the problem, saying that an ongoing investigation prevents them from
