{"id":168442,"date":"2024-09-27T14:00:50","date_gmt":"2024-09-27T14:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=168442"},"modified":"2024-09-27T21:06:10","modified_gmt":"2024-09-27T21:06:10","slug":"colombias-satena-takes-delivery-of-new-atr-42-600","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2024\/09\/colombias-satena-takes-delivery-of-new-atr-42-600.html","title":{"rendered":"Colombia&#8217;s SATENA takes delivery of new ATR 42-600"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Colombian airline <strong>SATENA<\/strong> took delivery this Friday of a new<strong> ATR 42-600<\/strong> aircraft, set to start operations at the beginning of October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Equipped with the latest technology and bolstering the lowest cost per trip in its category, the new ATR 42-600 will enable SATENA to expand its reach and play a more significant role in the domestic market by connecting underserved towns and villages responsibly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joining a fleet of 10 ATR aircraft, including two ATR 72-600, four ATR 42-600 and four ATR 42-500, the addition of this ATR 42-600 into SATENA\u2019s fleet marks a significant milestone as it is the first directly acquired from ATR by the airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2024\/09\/colombia-wingo-inaugurates-new-route-between-medellin-and-barranquilla.html\">Wingo inaugurates new route between Medellin and Barranquilla<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe introduction of the ATR into our fleet 10 years ago has been decisive in fulfilling our mission of fostering development and connectivity throughout Colombia. Thanks to their superior performance, unrivalled versatility and efficiency, ATR aircraft have proven to be the perfect ally in our quest to reach the most remote regions, ensuring reliable operations, optimal fuel efficiency, and the ability to land on short runways\u201d said Mayor General Oscar Zuluaga, President of SATENA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted to see SATENA, a long-term customer of ATR, expanding its fleet with our aircraft, underscoring its proven reliability and relevance for regional operations\u201d, Nathalie Tarnaud Laude, CEO of ATR, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the arrival of this aircraft, existing routes will be strengthened by increasing the number of available seats to destinations such as Guain\u00eda, Vaup\u00e9s, In\u00edrida, Vichada, Mit\u00fa, Puerto Carre\u00f1o, and the Pacific coast, as well as key connections like Bogot\u00e1-Quibd\u00f3, Cali-Guapi, Medell\u00edn-Bah\u00eda Solano, and Medell\u00edn-Mit\u00fa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ATR aircraft have been essential to the airline\u2019s growth, which now operates 142 routes to 52 destinations, of which 83 are social routes, crucial to
