{"id":169065,"date":"2024-10-28T12:30:38","date_gmt":"2024-10-28T12:30:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=169065"},"modified":"2024-10-28T13:14:56","modified_gmt":"2024-10-28T13:14:56","slug":"latam-announces-purchase-of-10-new-boeing-787s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2024\/10\/latam-announces-purchase-of-10-new-boeing-787s.html","title":{"rendered":"LATAM announces purchase of 10 new Boeing 787s"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>LATAM Airlines Group <\/strong>announced Monday the purchase of 10 new <strong>Boeing 787 Dreamliners<\/strong> to continue advancing its commitment to having one of the most modern and efficient fleets in Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement includes an option to purchase additional aircraft and consolidates the airline group as the largest operator of Boeing 787s in Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this order, which is in addition to deliveries expected in the coming years, LATAM expects to operate 52 aircraft of the 787 Dreamliner family by the end of the decade. This represents an increase of 26 aircraft, compared to what was operated pre-pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2024\/10\/latam-leads-brazilian-airline-market-in-third-quarter-of-2024-with-39.html\">LATAM leads Brazilian airline market in third quarter of 2024 with 39%<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The Boeing 787 is a much more efficient aircraft, allowing us to continue growing sustainably while reducing our carbon footprint as we drive the growth of our operations. This order will enable us to receive at least two aircraft of this model each year from 2025 until the end of the decade,&#8221; said Ramiro Alfons\u00edn, Chief Financial Officer of the LATAM Airlines Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We appreciate LATAM&#8217;s continued confidence in the 787 Dreamliner family to further expand its international network from hubs in Santiago, Sao Paulo and Lima,&#8221; said Mike Wilson, Boeing vice president of Commercial Sales for Latin America and the Caribbean. &#8220;As demand for air travel rises, we will continue to support LATAM&#8217;s growth strategy and goal of connecting Latin America with the world.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the group has announced that the next Boeing 787s will be GENx-powered, complementing the existing fleet of Rolls Royce Trent 1000-powered aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LATAM group currently has 341 aircraft, 57 Boeing passenger aircraft (767, 777 and 787 models) and 263 Airbus aircraft (A319, A320, A320neo, A321 and A321neo models).
