Latvian airline airBaltic<\/strong> has taken a major step towards the future of air travel by successfully completing a test flight to certify the use of Starlink high-speed internet, developed by SpaceX. This milestone positions airBaltic as the first airline in the region to offer this groundbreaking technology free of charge to its passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Game-Changing Test Flight<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight, conducted from airBaltic\u2019s main base in Riga, Latvia, aboard an Airbus A220-300, evaluated the functionality of the Starlink aero terminal and the quality of the internet connection. This trial is part of the process to obtain the required certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starlink: Innovation Redefining the Skies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developed by SpaceX, Starlink is the world\u2019s first and largest satellite constellation in low Earth orbit. Its unique architecture allows speeds of up to 500 Mbps with exceptionally low latency, thanks to satellites positioned up to 65 times closer to Earth than traditional geostationary satellites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
