This exceptional growth was driven by an increase in demand for both business and leisure travel, with outstanding performance in international markets, along with the addition of new destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Breaking Down the Iberia Group&#8217;s Numbers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Iberia Group, comprised Iberia, Iberia Express and Air Nostrum, carried a total of 30,732,745 passengers in 2024. This increase reflects the robust performance across all markets, especially Latin America, where Iberia increased its capacity by 16%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each of the group&#8217;s airlines contributed significantly to this record:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Iberia: <\/strong>18,677,812 passengers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Iberia Express: <\/strong>7,687,718 passengers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Iberia Regional Air Nostrum: <\/strong>4,367,215 passengers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Focus on Latin America<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the biggest contributors to this growth has been the Iberia Group&#8217;s focus on Latin America. In 2024, Iberia offered its customers more than 5.3 million seats between Europe and the 18 Latin American destinations it serves. This translates to 320 weekly flights, which have met the growing demand in this region. The airline also inaugurated new routes in the Latin American market, consolidating its presence with increased flight frequencies and a broader route offering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2024\/11\/iberia-launches-gastrobar-a-tu-asiento-service.html\">Iberia launches \u201cGastrobar A Tu Asiento\u201d service<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Expansion to New International Destinations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Iberia has not only strengthened its presence in Latin America but also expanded its network of international destinations. In 2024, the airline launched new routes to Japan, a key destination that began operating in October, as well as to other European cities such as Tirana, Ljubljana, Salzburg, Innsbruck, and Tromso. These new connections not only contributed to the passenger record but also reinforced Iberia&#8217;s commitment to continue offering diversified travel options to its customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Iberia Express and Air Nostrum: Boosting Internal Connectivity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the focus on international markets has been key to success, notable growth has also been seen in domestic and regional operations. Iberia Express, with its strong presence on routes to the Canary and Balearic Islands, has been a growth driver in the domestic market. In turn, Iberia Regional Air Nostrum has significantly improved connectivity on national and European routes, enabling even greater integration within the continent and contributing to the Iberia Group&#8217;s expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beatriz Guill\u00e9n, Iberia&#8217;s Global Sales Director, highlighted that this record is not only the result of increased demand but also of the commitment and dedication of the company&#8217;s employees, who, through their constant efforts, have made this year&#8217;s success possible. For Guill\u00e9n, service excellence is the key to Iberia&#8217;s success, a fundamental factor in keeping passengers satisfied and loyal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The record achieved by the Iberia Group in
