In 2024, Airbus <\/strong>solidified its position as a leader in the aviation industry by delivering 766 aircraft, once again outperforming its main competitor, Boeing. Although it narrowly missed its exact target of 770 deliveries, the European company met its expectations thanks to its resilience in the face of global challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deliveries: The Foundation of Financial Success<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airbus delivered a total of 766 commercial aircraft in 2024, ensuring its market leadership for the sixth consecutive year. While the number fell slightly short of the “around 770” target, the company highlighted that it had accounted for a margin of error due to ongoing global supply chain difficulties, such as shortages of parts and labor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delivery volume, which represents the primary source of revenue for aircraft manufacturers, grew by 4% compared to the previous year. However, this annual growth was lower than the 11% recorded in 2023, reflecting a slower pace of industrial recovery following the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airbus also reported 878 gross orders (826 net after cancellations), a 61% drop compared to its record-breaking 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christian Scherer, CEO of Airbus’ commercial division, expressed confidence in reaching the goal of producing 75 single-aisle A320 family aircraft per month by 2027, though he acknowledged the need to strengthen supply chains. Currently, Airbus is producing close to 60 single-aisle aircraft per month, an increase from the 50 produced a year earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airbus’ leadership in 2024 demonstrates its ability to adapt and overcome global challenges. However, to maintain this position, the company will need to work closely with its supplier network and address supply chain issues. Its strategic focus on single-aisle aircraft production, such as the A320 models, will be key to its continued success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
