In a move set to transform the experience of its frequent flyers, Qantas<\/strong> has announced significant changes and benefits to its Frequent Flyer loyalty program. These modifications not only expand point redemption options but also introduce new opportunities to enjoy premium cabin flights and partner airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More Reward Seats and New Partnerships<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting in 2025, Qantas will make up to one million additional Classic Reward seats available to its members, including premium cabin options and partnerships with global airlines such as Finnair, Air France, KLM, Iberia, and Hawaiian Airlines. This represents a significant increase in seat availability, aimed at meeting the growing demand for travel to popular destinations in Europe, Asia, and North America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lower Reward Fares on Jetstar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In August 2025, Qantas will introduce Australia\u2019s lowest reward fare. Short-haul flights operated by Jetstar in Australia and New Zealand will start at just 5,700 points. Additionally, members will be able to use their points to upgrade to Business Class on Jetstar flights, thanks to a fleet refurbishment of Boeing 787 Dreamliners that will double Business Class seating capacity to 44 per aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More Points Earned on Domestic Flights<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frequent flyers will also earn up to 25% more points on domestic Qantas flights starting July 2025. For instance, a Bronze member flying from Sydney to Perth in Economy will earn 1,815 points instead of the current 1,450. For Platinum members, a Business Class flight from Sydney to Melbourne will now yield 3,500 points, a notable increase from the previous 2,000 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Changes to Points and Upgrade Rates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first time in six years, Qantas will increase the number of points required to book Classic Reward seats and make upgrade requests. This adjustment, effective August 2025, will enable the airline to continue investing in program enhancements. For example, a flight from Sydney to London in Economy Class will rise from 55,200 points plus $263 in fees to 63,500 points with the same additional costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Impact of the Classic Plus Program<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its launch in 2024, Classic Plus has been a resounding success, with an 80% increase in international travel during the holiday season. This program, backed by a $120 million investment, has tripled initial booking expectations and continues to create new opportunities for members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Bright Future for Frequent Flyers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With over 20 million reward seats available annually and partnerships with more than 45 airlines, Qantas\u2019 loyalty program remains one of the most attractive in the world. These changes reflect the airline\u2019s ongoing commitment to innovation and improving the customer experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
