This investment complements the ongoing fleet renewal, ensuring a cutting-edge flying experience for its passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key Boeing 737 Cabin Improvements<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The modernization program includes 42 aircraft, with significant changes such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>New seats in Business and Economy Class.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Larger overhead compartments, offering up to 50% more space for carry-on luggage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A complete cabin overhaul with new carpets, refreshed side panels, and enhanced ambient lighting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Continued availability of fast and free Wi-Fi on all aircraft.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These changes will provide customers with a modern cabin that aligns with the new aircraft in the airline&#8217;s domestic fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2025\/01\/qantas-marks-new-era-with-uniform-redesign.html\">Qantas Marks New Era with Uniform Redesign<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first refurbished Boeing 737 is expected to enter service by 2027. Currently, these aircraft operate on domestic routes within Australia and short-haul international destinations such as Bali, Fiji, and Vanuatu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Future Fleet: Introduction of the Airbus A321XLR<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the renewal plan, Qantas will also gradually introduce the Airbus A321XLR, replacing the Boeing 737 over the next decade. The airline will be one of the first in the world to operate this model. The first unit has already been assembled and painted in the company&#8217;s livery and is expected to arrive in June, with four additional aircraft to follow before the end of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The advantages of the A321XLR include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>More comfortable Economy seats.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A 66% increase in Business Class seats.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A more spacious and quieter cabin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Extra-large overhead compartments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fast and free Wi-Fi connectivity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Additional Qantas Fleet Renewals<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Qantas Group is also modernizing other key aircraft:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Airbus A330-200: <\/strong>Ten units will receive cabin upgrades, including new Economy seats with 20% larger screens, fast-charging USB-C ports, and Bluetooth connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jetstar&#8217;s Boeing 787:<\/strong> Qantas&#8217; low-cost carrier will invest in refurbishing its Economy and Business Class cabins. Starting in 2026, the aircraft will feature new seats and Wi-Fi connectivity. The Business Class offering will double, increasing from 21 to 44 seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vanessa Hudson, CEO of the Qantas Group, emphasized that these investments are part of the largest fleet renewal
