JetBlue<\/strong>, in collaboration with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and Fraport USA, has announced an ambitious plan to modernize Terminal 5 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). This renovation aims to significantly enhance the passenger experience by offering over 40 new concessions, local art, and a design inspired by the city\u2019s iconic parks. The first improvements are expected to be operational by 2025, with the project set for completion by the end of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Transformation Aligned with JFK\u2019s Modernization<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This initiative aligns with the Port Authority\u2019s $19 billion investment in the renovation of JFK Airport. One of the main focuses of the project is to highlight local businesses and provide travelers with an authentically New York experience, featuring 18 new dining options and an environment that reflects the city\u2019s energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The heart of Terminal 5 will be transformed into a space inspired by urban parks, complete with benches, concrete chess tables, greenery, and warm lighting. Additionally, it will include a special area for interactive events, live performances, and pop-up experiences, showcasing the city\u2019s vibrant culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Artistic and Culinary Showcase of New York<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The renovation will also feature over 30 works of art by local artists, turning the terminal into a cultural attraction in its own right. Among the new food and beverage options, passengers will be able to enjoy globally recognized brands such as Eataly, The Halal Guys, and Shake Shack, alongside iconic local restaurants like Jacob’s Pickles, Tiki Chick, Serafina, Gotham Burger, DiFara Pizza, Neir’s Tavern, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the federal Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) program will enable small local businesses to participate in the airport concessions sector. Some of the selected businesses include Neir’s Tavern (Queens), Brooklyn Tea Seller (Brooklyn), and Sugar Hill Creamery (Manhattan).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Economic Impact and Job Creation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The project will not only benefit travelers but also the local economy. Hundreds of jobs are expected to be created, along with new opportunities for small businesses through partnerships with experienced operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Congressman Gregory W. Meeks, this transformation will not only improve the travel experience but also foster economic growth and strengthen communities near the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Future Connected with Terminal 6<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

JetBlue is also investing in the construction of Terminal 6, which will connect to Terminal 5. This expansion will include a new customer lounge, solidifying the airline\u2019s position as a leader in innovation and comfort at JFK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With 165 daily flights and over 35,000 passengers served daily, Terminal 5 will continue to evolve to offer world-class service, maintaining its commitment to excellence and New York identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
