TAP Air Portugal<\/strong> resumed its direct flights between Lisbon and Porto Alegre, the capital of Brazil\u2019s Rio Grande do Sul state, this Tuesday. This marks the return of a route that had been suspended since May 2024 due to heavy rains in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three Weekly Flights with the Airbus A330-900neo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The route will operate with three weekly frequencies on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Flights will depart Lisbon at 1:05 PM and arrive in the Brazilian city at 8:25 PM, with a total duration of 11 hours and 20 minutes. For the return journey, flights will take off from Porto Alegre at 9:55 PM and land in Lisbon at 12:45 PM the following day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TAP will use the Airbus A330-900neo for this route, a next-generation aircraft with a capacity for 298 passengers, designed to offer greater efficiency and comfort to travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TAP CEO Lu\u00eds Rodrigues highlighted the significance of this resumption for the airline and Porto Alegre\u2019s international connectivity. \u201cWe are very pleased to have reinstated this route, fulfilling our promise to do everything possible to restore operations as soon as we could. This flight symbolizes a new future for both Porto Alegre and TAP,\u201d said Rodrigues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Rio Grande do Sul Governor Eduardo Leite emphasized the positive impact this resumption will have on the state\u2019s economic recovery. \u201cReestablishing the direct connection between Porto Alegre and Lisbon is a symbol of our resilience and reconstruction. The reactivation of this route demonstrates international confidence in our recovery and strengthens our historical and commercial ties with Portugal,\u201d Leite stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Extensive Network Between Brazil and Portugal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With this move, TAP Air strengthens its presence in Brazil, where it operates direct flights from Lisbon to 13 cities, including S\u00e3o Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Bel\u00e9m, Belo Horizonte, Bras\u00edlia, Fortaleza, Natal, Macei\u00f3, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador, Florian\u00f3polis, and Manaus. Additionally, the airline offers connections from Porto to S\u00e3o Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, bringing the total to 15 direct routes between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This resumption underscores TAP\u2019s commitment to the Brazilian market and its role as a key bridge between South America and Europe, fostering tourism and business opportunities on both continents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
