After nearly a decade, Virgin Atlantic<\/strong> has resumed operations in Canada with the launch of a new direct route between London\u2019s Heathrow International Airport and Toronto Pearson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Strategic Route for the British Airline<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The new daily service, operated with a Boeing 787-9, not only marks a milestone for Virgin Atlantic but also serves as a strategic move to strengthen its transatlantic presence. With an estimated capacity to carry over 165,000 passengers annually and up to 20 tons of cargo, this route is designed to meet both traveler demand and the logistical needs of sectors such as technology and e-commerce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toronto, considered Canada\u2019s financial and cultural heart, is a key entry point to the country and the continent, making it a natural choice for this return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smoother Global Connections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The return to Canada is not an isolated move. It is part of a broader expansion plan by Virgin Atlantic, which includes a growing presence in India. The airline now offers quick and seamless connections, with an average transit time of just one hour and 20 minutes at Heathrow, to cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, through codeshare and interline agreements, passengers can easily connect from London to destinations such as Johannesburg, Lagos, Tel Aviv, and Beirut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Partnership with WestJet for Domestic Coverage<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the highlights of this new service is the expanded partnership with Canadian airline WestJet. Both will operate from Terminal 3 at Toronto Pearson Airport, enabling smoother connections to 13 destinations across Canada, including Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Ottawa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The integration of cross-benefits between the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and WestJet Rewards loyalty programs is also expected soon, adding even more value for frequent travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strengthening the Transatlantic Joint Venture<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This launch further reinforces Virgin Atlantic\u2019s collaboration with its Joint Venture partners: Delta Air Lines and Air France-KLM. Together, these airlines operate over 100 weekly flights between Europe and seven Canadian destinations, increasing flexibility and options for customers crossing the Atlantic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
