Tocumen International Airport,<\/strong> located in Panama City, closed the first quarter of 2025 with a total traffic of 4,963,689 passengers. This figure represents an 8% growth compared to the same period in 2024, adding 367,336 additional travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of this total, 1,695,289 passengers were recorded in March alone, with 72% of travelers in transit for connections. Currently, the airport handles a daily average of 55,000 people, whether in transit, entering, or exiting the country through Terminals 1 and 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Increase in Air Operations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The airport’s dynamism is also reflected in its air operations. During the first quarter of the year, Tocumen recorded a total of 39,801 flights, marking a 7% increase compared to the same period last year. This equates to 2,680 additional operations, including commercial flights, cargo, general aviation, charter flights, military operations, and technical stops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expansion in the Cargo Sector<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The airport’s cargo area also saw a notable increase. In the first quarter, 54,265 metric tons of goods were transported, representing a 12% growth compared to the previous year. This increase translates to 5,764 additional metric tons, solidifying Tocumen as a key hub for trade and logistics in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Strategic Network of Connections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Currently, 12 commercial airlines and 16 cargo airlines operate at Tocumen, connecting Panama with 83 destinations across the Americas and Europe. This extensive route network reinforces its position as the most important connection hub in Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
