With an backlog reaching $26.4 billion, the company surpassed the previous all-time high recorded in the prior quarter.

Strong Growth in Total Deliveries

During the first quarter of the year, Embraer delivered a total of 30 aircraft, marking a 20% increase compared to the same period in 2024, when 25 units were delivered. This figure represents 13% of the midpoint (231 aircraft) of the company’s annual delivery guidance for its Executive and Commercial Aviation segments, exceeding the historical average of 11% for this quarter over the past five years.

Commercial Aviation: Supply Chain Challenges and New Order from ANA Holdings

In the Commercial Aviation division, the order backlog reached $10 billion, reflecting a slight 2% decline compared to the previous quarter. Despite this dip, ANA Holdings Inc. placed a significant order for 15 E190-E2 jets, with an option for five additional units. This order will be incorporated in the second half of the year once the final contract is signed.

→ Embraer to Offer Intelsat’s High-Speed WiFi System During E-Jet E2 Production

During the quarter, seven aircraft were delivered in this segment, accounting for 9% of the midpoint (81 units) of the annual target, below the 12% average recorded over the past five years for this period. Deliveries included E175 models for American Airlines (2), Republic Airlines (1), and Horizon Air (1), as well as E195-E2 models for Porter (1), Aercap (1), and Azorra (1). Two additional deliveries were not finalized due to commercial matters.

Executive Aviation: New Record and Phenom 300 Leadership

The Executive Aviation unit also set a new record, with a backlog reaching $7.6 billion, a 3% increase over the previous high achieved in the fourth quarter of 2024. In this segment, 23 jets were delivered, including 14 light and 9 midsize aircraft. This figure represents a 28% increase compared to the same period last year (18 deliveries) and equates to 15% of the midpoint (150 units) of the annual guidance, surpassing the 11% average of the past five years.

In February, the Phenom 300 series was once again recognized as the world’s best-selling and most-delivered light jet for the 13th consecutive year, according to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA). Additionally, it was confirmed as the most-delivered twin-engine jet globally for the fifth consecutive year in 2024.

Defense and Security: New Orders from Uruguay

The Defense and Security division closed the quarter with a backlog of $4.2 billion. The Uruguayan Air Force (FAU) and the National Defense Ministry (MDN) converted their options into firm orders for five A-29 Super Tucano aircraft. This agreement adds to the firm order for one unit placed in August 2024. The contract also includes mission equipment, integrated logistics services, and a flight simulator.

Despite the selection of the KC-390 Millennium by Sweden (4 units) and Slovakia (3), and the A-29 Super Tucano by Portugal (12) and Panama (4), these orders have not yet been added to the backlog as the contracts remain pending formalization.

Services and Support: Expansion in Africa with Airlink

The Services and Support segment remained stable, with a backlog of $4.6 billion. A notable highlight was the agreement with Airlink, the leading airline in Southern Africa, for spare parts inventory support for its fleet of 68 Embraer aircraft. This contract makes Airlink the first African customer to adopt the Embraer Collaborative Inventory Planning (ECIP) system, designed to optimize inventory levels and reduce operational costs.

Related Topics

 <div class="wp-block-uagb-post-grid uagb-post-grid uagb-post__image-position-top
