American Airlines and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) <\/strong>have revealed plans to construct the new Terminal F, with an investment reaching $4 billion. This project will double the number of gates originally planned, strengthen international operations, and deliver a modern, efficient, and comfortable travel experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Terminal F will be operated entirely by American Airlines, featuring premium waiting areas, a new check-in system, and an exclusive parking facility with direct access. The agreement also extends the airline\u2019s lease and use agreement with the airport until 2043, ensuring operational and financial stability for both parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Terminal F: Enhanced Connectivity and Comfort<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Initially planned as a 15-gate terminal accessible from Terminal E via the Skylink system, the expansion now includes a direct pedestrian connection to Terminal D, a new Skylink station, and additional space for wide-body aircraft and international flight processing. This will allow American to handle all terminal traffic, improving flight connectivity and optimizing operational logistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond operational benefits, passengers will enjoy more retail options, public art, high-quality dining, and modern waiting areas. The associated parking facility will feature an innovative circulation and baggage delivery system to streamline arrivals and departures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first phase of the project is already under construction and is expected to open in 2027, with additional improvements coming online shortly thereafter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Boost to Regional Growth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines considers Dallas-Fort Worth its most critical operational hub. “With this expansion of Terminal F, the airport has a clear path to becoming the world\u2019s largest air hub,” said Robert Isom, CEO of American Airlines. He also highlighted the partnership with local governments and the DFW team as key to realizing this vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airport, which has seen a 50% increase in passenger traffic over the past decade, is now the third busiest in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond Texas: Upgrades Across American Airlines\u2019 Network<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The investment in Terminal F is part of a broader strategy by American to enhance the customer experience. This month, the airline will open its new Flagship Lounge A-West and Admirals Club at Philadelphia International Airport. Starting in January 2026, it will also offer free, high-speed satellite Wi-Fi for AAdvantage members, courtesy of AT&T, on more aircraft than any other airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Full Commitment to Dallas-Fort Worth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines employs over 36,000 people in the area and will transport nearly 70 million passengers through Dallas-Fort Worth in 2024. The strengthened agreement with the airport also includes additional capital investments exceeding $2.7 billion to modernize Terminals A, C, and the airport\u2019s central area, along with road and accessibility improvements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The message is clear: American Airlines is betting big on the future of Dallas-Fort Worth and North Texas. The new Terminal F will be the symbol of that commitment\u2014innovation, connectivity, and world-class service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
