Volotea <\/strong>announced this Wednesday the launch of a new flight route connecting Asturias and Madrid, set to begin on October 31, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new connection will mark Volotea\u2019s first direct route between Asturias and the Spanish capital, adding to the 19 routes it already operates from this airport. With this announcement, Madrid becomes the airline\u2019s 20th destination from the Principality of Asturias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frequencies and Schedules<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The route will operate with four weekly flights: on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. During the winter season (December to February), the frequency will be reduced to two flights per week: Mondays and Fridays. The schedules are designed to offer convenient options for different types of travelers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Asturias:<\/strong>
Monday: 07:05
Thursday, Friday, and Sunday: 15:10<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Madrid:<\/strong>
Monday: 08:55
Thursday, Friday, and Sunday: 17:00<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This schedule caters to both business travelers and weekend getaways, positioning the route as a competitive alternative to high-speed rail, with complementary timings and greater flexibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Expanding Route Network<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With the new Madrid route, Volotea strengthens its network from Asturias, which already includes domestic destinations such as Alicante, Barcelona, Castell\u00f3n, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Granada, Ibiza, Jerez (C\u00e1diz), Lanzarote, Mallorca, M\u00e1laga, Menorca, Murcia, Sevilla, Tenerife Sur, and Valencia, as well as international destinations like Milan Bergamo, Venice, and Lisbon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2025, Volotea will continue expanding its presence with new routes such as Bilbao-Palermo, Barcelona-Bordeaux (operational from February), and Murcia-Marseille starting in July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabriel Schmilovich, the airline\u2019s Chief Strategy Officer, emphasized the significance of this new connection: “We are thrilled to announce this new route between Asturias and Madrid, which reinforces our commitment to the region, where we have been operating for 13 years. This route has been highly requested for a long time and is the result of our longstanding presence in Asturias. The strong support from our customers, along with the maturity of other destinations, has encouraged us to continue growing and contributing to local connectivity.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this strategic move, Volotea expands its network and solidifies its role as a key partner in regional mobility, boosting tourism, business, and economic development from the Principality to the rest of Spain and Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
