Brazil<\/strong> continues to break records in the aviation sector. In April 2025, the country reached a new historic high in passenger traffic: nearly 10 million people traveled by air, including 7.9 million on domestic flights and 2.1 million on international routes, according to the latest report from the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This volume not only represents a milestone in absolute numbers but also unprecedented performance since the beginning of the historical series in January 2000, particularly in the international market, which for the first time exceeded 2 million passengers in a single April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Domestic Market: Sustained Growth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Domestic aviation saw a notable increase in the number of passengers transported within the country. With 7.9 million passengers, domestic traffic rose by 9.6% compared to April 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the number of travelers, demand, measured in revenue passenger kilometers (RPK), grew by 13.4%, while supply, calculated in available seat kilometers (ASK), increased by 7.6%. This imbalance suggests more efficient use of installed capacity and higher load factors on domestic flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International: A Historic April<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The international sector was not far behind. With 2.1 million passengers, the increase was 17.2% compared to April of the previous year, driven by a 14.4% rise in demand and a 12.2% increase in supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This rebound reflects the strengthening of tourism and business travel between Brazil and other countries, consolidating the sector’s recovery and expansion after years of post-pandemic instability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air Cargo: Two Speeds, One Market<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the logistics sector, results were mixed. International cargo reached 74.8 thousand tons, marking a 4.4% growth compared to April 2024. However, domestic cargo fell by 12.5%, dropping to 35.9 thousand tons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This contrast reveals distinct dynamics between foreign trade, which appears to be strengthening, and the domestic cargo market, which may be feeling the effects of local economic factors or changes in logistics strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Brazilian aviation sector continues to demonstrate strength and resilience, with figures that not only surpass previous years but also set new historical benchmarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
