Delta Air Lines <\/strong>has taken a strategic step to strengthen its presence in the transatlantic market with the inauguration this Wednesday of a new nonstop route between New York\u2019s John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) and Catania, Sicily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Catania: A New Destination on Delta\u2019s Map<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Located on the eastern coast of Sicily at the foot of the majestic Mount Etna, Catania offers a unique blend of ancient history, Baroque architecture, and stunning natural landscapes. This new route not only positions Delta as the first U.S. airline to operate direct flights from this city but also makes Catania the fifth Italian destination in its network, alongside Rome, Milan, Venice, and Naples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Commitment to Tourism and Connectivity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSicily is a highly sought-after destination with strong ties for many Italian-Americans. We are confident this new service will benefit the local economy and make it easier for Sicilians to connect with the United States,\u201d said Matteo Curcio, Delta\u2019s Senior Vice President for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight will provide seamless connections to dozens of destinations across North America thanks to Delta\u2019s hub at JFK, including key cities like Los Angeles, Miami, and Chicago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Premium and Refreshed Cabin Experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The route will be operated with a 216-seat Boeing 767-300, featuring distinct experiences in each cabin. Delta One, its flagship product, will include lie-flat seats, a four-course chef-curated meal, Taittinger champagne, and a new collection of bedding and amenity kits designed by Missoni. Passengers will also have access to the exclusive Delta One Lounge at JFK, complete with a brasserie, wellness area, and a library lounge adorned by the Italian fashion house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In cabins like Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin, travelers will enjoy extra space, onboard entertainment, and curated food and beverage options\u2014all complemented by over 1,000 hours of content on Delta Studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All passengers can stay connected during the flight with free, high-speed Wi-Fi from T-Mobile, available on all transatlantic flights, including the new route to Catania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta: The Leader in the U.S.-Italy Market<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With this new addition, Delta will operate up to 110 weekly flights between the U.S. and Italy during the summer 2025 season, a 15% increase compared to the previous year. This solidifies the airline\u2019s leadership as the top U.S. carrier in the Italian market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
