Many travelers are now avoiding Newark, even if it means traveling longer distances to alternative airports like LaGuardia or JFK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Stef Anderson, a San Francisco resident, endured an eight-hour delay on her May 16 flight to Newark, which was eventually canceled. With another flight to Paris scheduled for May 28, she hopes history doesn\u2019t repeat itself. \u201cUnited has me tied down with their Premier Silver status. Otherwise, I\u2019d fly with Alaska,\u201d she remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newark is navigating a delicate moment, grappling with technical issues, negative public perception, and a loss of competitiveness against neighboring airports. In the short term, recovery will depend on restoring passenger confidence, completing repairs, and stabilizing operations.
