On June 4, Captain Maribel Porras completed her final flight on the Paris-Bogot\u00e1 route, marking the end of an exemplary 45-year career in the aviation industry, 37 of which she spent serving Avianca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Co-Pilot to Continental Trailblazer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Maribel joined Avianca in 1987 as a co-pilot. Eighteen years later, she made history by becoming the first woman to command a Boeing 767 in Latin America. Her rise was not only professional but also symbolic: she opened doors in a historically male-dominated industry and became a role model for women dreaming of taking flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Captain Maribel Porras has landed as a commander for the last time, but her impact will continue to soar.
