Royal Air Maroc<\/strong>, Morocco\u2019s national airline, is on the verge of finalizing a significant deal with Boeing<\/strong> and a smaller agreement with Airbus <\/strong>as part of its ambitious expansion strategy, according to a report by Bloomberg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A New Fleet for a Broader Vision<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sources close to the negotiations, who requested anonymity due to the confidential nature of the process, revealed that Royal Air Maroc is considering adding approximately 24 Boeing 787 Dreamliners to strengthen its long-haul network. This would be complemented by up to 50 Boeing 737s for short-haul routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the airline plans to acquire around 20 Airbus A220s to enhance regional transportation. This fleet renewal and expansion directly address growing passenger demand and the airline\u2019s goal of becoming a key player in West African air connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anticipating the Official Announcement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While the total size of the order and the exact date of finalization remain subject to change, the Airbus portion of the deal is expected to be announced next week during the Paris Air Show, one of the most prominent events in the global aerospace industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Moroccan government aims not only to improve regional and international connectivity but also to bolster air cargo transport, a sector that currently plays a modest role in Royal Air Maroc\u2019s operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The long-term goal is clear: to position Morocco as the primary aerial gateway to Africa from Europe and the Americas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The country\u2019s aviation strategy is also closely tied to its co-hosting of the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
