Cathay Pacific<\/strong> has reached a new milestone in its international network with the launch of its first direct flight between Hong Kong and Munich, Germany<\/strong>. This service not only marks the airline\u2019s first non-stop connection to the Bavarian capital but also significantly strengthens its presence in the European market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new route is part of an ambitious expansion strategy, which recently saw the introduction of seasonal flights to Rome starting June 5 and anticipates the resumption of operations to Brussels on August 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Global Network of 100 Destinations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Together with its low-cost subsidiary HK Express, Cathay Pacific has expanded its global reach. The airline group has now achieved 100 passenger destinations worldwide, solidifying its role as a key player in international connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2025, the two airlines will add a total of 18 new destinations to their combined network. In June alone, Cathay Pacific launched flights to Rome and Munich, while HK Express introduced services to Cheongju and Daegu and will add Miyako (Shimojishima) next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lavinia Lau, Chief Customer and Commercial Officer at Cathay Pacific, emphasized the importance of this new route: \u201cWe are thrilled to welcome Munich to our global network for the first time, offering customers a direct connection between Hong Kong and a key economic, manufacturing, and transportation hub in Europe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Travelers arriving in Munich can enjoy its vibrant mix of culture, art, and innovation, as well as access to numerous European destinations through the airline\u2019s codeshare agreements. Similarly, those traveling to Hong Kong can connect to Cathay\u2019s extensive route map, reinforcing Hong Kong International Airport\u2019s role as a major global aviation hub and a crucial gateway to mainland China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Details of the New Hong Kong\u2013Munich Service<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The flights will be operated with state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 aircraft, featuring fully reclining beds in Business Class, spacious Premium Economy seats, and comfort in Economy Class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More Flights to Europe for Summer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cathay Pacific plans to operate nearly 100 round-trip flights per week to 12 European destinations during the peak summer season. These include Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Frankfurt, London Heathrow, Madrid, Manchester, Milan, Munich, Paris, Rome, and Zurich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Cathay Cargo will enhance logistics capacity with seven weekly cargo flights between Europe and Asia throughout the summer of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
