Copa Airlines <\/strong>inaugurated its new route to San Diego, California<\/strong>, this Wednesday, marking a milestone in its international connectivity strategy. This addition reinforces the Panamanian airline’s presence in the western United States and enhances its role as a bridge between Latin America and key regions across the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This new connection not only expands our geographic reach but also addresses the growing demand for travel for business, academic, and tourism purposes,” stated Pedro Heilbron, CEO of the airline. He also emphasized that this route broadens opportunities for travelers interested in the Panama Stopover program, which allows them to explore the country at no additional cost during extended layovers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Schedule and Frequencies of the New Service<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The route operates four times a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Flight CM847 departs from Tocumen International Airport in Panama City at 1:16 p.m. (local time) and arrives at San Diego International Airport at 5:54 p.m. (local time).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The return flight, CM850, takes off from San Diego at 9:06 p.m. and lands in Panama at 5:20 a.m. the following day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

San Diego: A Key Destination on Copa Airlines’ Map<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

San Diego is a strategic city due to its location in Southern California, cultural diversity, and tourist appeal. Among its main attractions are Coronado Beach, La Jolla Cove, and the renowned San Diego Zoo. It also offers unique cultural and historical experiences, such as the Old Town San Diego State Historic Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The launch of this route makes San Diego the airline’s third destination in California and its 17th in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hub of the Americas Continues to Grow<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Copa Airlines solidifies its role as a leader in air connectivity in Latin America through its operations hub, the Hub of the Americas, located in Panama City. Currently, the airline operates over 375 daily flights, connecting more than 80 destinations across 32 countries in North, Central, and South America, as well as the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this expansion, the company continues to build an efficient bridge across the continent, positioning Panama as a pivotal hub for regional air travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
