Delta Air Lines <\/strong>is making history in its global network with the launch of its first nonstop flight from Salt Lake City to South America<\/strong>. Starting December 4, 2025, through January 25, 2026, the airline will operate daily flights to Lima, Peru<\/strong>, opening new connection opportunities between the western United States and one of South America\u2019s most dynamic destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Strategic Milestone for Delta and Utah<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

“The creation of this direct connection is a significant milestone for Delta and our customers in Salt Lake City and the Mountain West,” said Paul Baldoni, Senior Vice President of Network Planning. This new route not only provides faster and more comfortable access to Lima but also positions SLC as a key hub for links to multiple South American cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Utah Governor Spencer J. Cox emphasized that this flight represents an opportunity to further elevate the state\u2019s international profile: “This new global connection underscores Delta\u2019s commitment to Utah and opens doors to business development, cultural exchange, and tourism growth.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lima: A Rising Destination for the Western U.S.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lima, the most sought-after South American destination from Salt Lake City, is now a direct reality for travelers from cities like San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Denver, Las Vegas, Sacramento, and Boise. This expanded connectivity also strengthens Delta\u2019s partnership with LATAM, facilitating connections to S\u00e3o Paulo, Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile, and other key destinations in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the renovated Jorge Ch\u00e1vez Airport in Lima\u2014with its modern international terminal\u2014ensures a smoother experience for connecting passengers, from arrival to boarding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Leap Forward in Travel Experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The flight will be operated on a Boeing 767-300ER, featuring Delta\u2019s four cabin experiences: Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort, and Delta Main. Delta One passengers will enjoy fully lie-flat seats, Missoni-designed amenity kits, premium bedding, and elegant onboard touches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Travelers passing through Salt Lake City International Airport will also have access to the exclusive 28,000-square-foot Delta Sky Club in Concourse A, offering panoramic mountain views and a 360-degree fireplace. Later this year, a second Sky Club will open in Concourse B, further enhancing the travel experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salt Lake City: A Crossroads of Continents<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Utah\u2019s capital solidifies its position as a key node in Delta\u2019s global network, with up to 265 daily departures to 96 destinations. Since 2020, the airline has consistently invested in modernizing the airport, including the opening of the 900,000-square-foot Concourse A with 50 Delta-exclusive gates and 19 new dining and retail options. By 2027, further expansion is planned to accommodate growing operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This direct service will be welcomed by Utah travelers and the state\u2019s growing Latino community,” said Bill Wyatt, Executive Director of the Salt Lake City Department of Airports. “It connects Utah to 30 destinations in South America and adds a fourth continent with nonstop access from our city.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
