Gulf Air<\/strong>, the national airline of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has taken a key step in its international growth plan with the announcement of its new direct route to New York (JFK), marking its return to the North American market. The announcement was made during the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The direct connection to one of the world\u2019s most important airports strengthens Gulf Air\u2019s presence on the continent and aligns with a carefully planned expansion strategy focused on key, high-value markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Details of the New Route: Bahrain \u2014 New York (JFK)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Flights will commence on October 1, 2025, operating three times per week. The aircraft selected for this route are the state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, renowned for their operational efficiency and onboard comfort, reinforcing the airline\u2019s premium approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the initial phase, flights will depart from Terminal One at John F. Kennedy International Airport. However, Gulf Air plans to relocate its operations to the airport\u2019s new Terminal 1 in June 2026\u2014a more modern facility that will further enhance the travel experience for its passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeffrey Goh, CEO of Gulf Air Group, emphasized the significance of the announcement: \u201cWe are thrilled to announce the launch of our direct flights to JFK and our return to the North American market. This service aligns with Gulf Air\u2019s calibrated expansion strategy and our goal of serving strategic markets, offering passengers more travel options and convenience through Bahrain International Airport, connecting Bahrain with North America and beyond. This supports the Kingdom\u2019s connectivity strategy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new route strengthens economic and cultural ties between Bahrain and the United States, positioning Gulf Air as a competitive player in long-haul routes with a focus on high-quality service and global connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
