Gulf Air<\/strong> has signed a new agreement with Boeing<\/strong> for the acquisition of 12 Boeing 787 Dreamliner<\/strong> aircraft, with options for six additional units. This strategic move raises the airline’s firm order to 14 wide-body aircraft, reinforcing its commitment to fleet modernization and the expansion of its international network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Global Impact Investment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The agreement, still pending finalization, not only marks a significant step in Gulf Air’s transformation but also promises substantial economic benefits. According to official data, this purchase will support 30,000 jobs in the United States, reflecting the aerospace industry’s pivotal role in global value chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The signing ceremony was attended by key figures: Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Finance and National Economy; Howard Lutnick, U.S. Secretary of Commerce; Stephanie Pope, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes; and Khalid Taqi, Chairman of Gulf Air Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Boeing 787 Dreamliner has proven to be an exceptional aircraft for our long-haul operations. This new order reflects our confidence in its performance, passenger appeal, and contribution to our sustainability goals,” stated Khalid Taqi. “We are proud to strengthen our partnership with Boeing and reaffirm our commitment to positioning Bahrain as a global aviation hub.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, Gulf Air operates 10 Dreamliners in its long-haul network, connecting over 50 destinations across Asia, Europe, and the United States. With this new order, the airline is poised to expand its presence on existing routes and open new international connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are thrilled to deepen a relationship that spans more than 60 years with Gulf Air,” emphasized Stephanie Pope. “The choice of the Dreamliner underscores the airline’s dedication to innovation and sustainable development, while solidifying Bahrain’s role as a key player in global aviation.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its entry into service in 2011, the 787 Dreamliner family has transformed commercial aviation: it has opened more than 425 non-stop routes and transported over 1 billion passengers worldwide.
