The Argentine airline sector is currently experiencing one of its best moments. According to official data from the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC), in June 2025, 3,585,167 passengers traveled through the country’s airports, marking a 12% increase compared to the same month in 2024. However, the standout performer was the international segment, which achieved its best June performance on record: 1,127,547 passengers, surpassing the previous record set in June 2019 (1,087,917) and reflecting a 14% growth compared to June of the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open Skies and New Routes: Drivers of Growth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This growth is no coincidence. The Open Skies policy and deregulation measures promoted by the National Government have been key. By enabling new international routes and enhancing connectivity from the country’s interior, passenger options have multiplied, and the role of regional airports has been strengthened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the first half of 2025, a total of 24,339,395 passengers were transported, a 14% increase compared to the same period in 2024 (21,404,889). This steady growth reflects a structural recovery of the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Domestic Travel Also on the Rise<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The domestic market is not far behind. In June 2025, 2,457,620 passengers were recorded on domestic flights, representing a 12% increase compared to the previous year. Air traffic movements also rose: 29,351 in total, a 10% increase compared to June 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bariloche, Rosario, and Salta: Stars of the International Leap<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Bariloche Airport was one of the most notable cases. With a 169% growth in international passengers compared to June 2024, its performance was driven by the return of seasonal flights operated by LATAM and Azul Linhas A\u00e9reas, as well as new connections to Belo Horizonte and Porto Alegre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rosario and Salta also showed remarkable increases of 59% and 52%, respectively. In both cases, the launch of new international routes was decisive: Rosario-Lima (operated by LATAM Per\u00fa since December 2024) and Salta-Asunci\u00f3n (operated by Paranair since February).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Flights from the Interior: More Options, Less Dependence on Buenos Aires<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A revealing statistic: 161,629 people traveled directly from the country’s interior to international destinations without passing through Buenos Aires. This figure represents a 35% increase compared to June 2024 and highlights the success of a more federal aviation policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
