The German airline Condor <\/strong>has taken a strategic step in its international expansion with the launch of its service to Sanya, located on Hainan Island, China. The flight departed from Frankfurt Airport on the evening of Saturday, July 26, and landed on Sunday at Sanya Phoenix International Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three Weekly Flights with a Strategic Stopover in Bangkok<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During the summer season, Condor will operate this route three times a week: on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays. All flights will depart from Frankfurt and include a stopover in Bangkok before continuing to Sanya. The operation will be carried out using Airbus A330neo aircraft, renowned for their fuel efficiency and modern cabin configuration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This aircraft model offers three service classes: Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy, catering to a wide range of passengers, from business travelers to tourists seeking comfort and affordability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Heiko Holm, CEO and Chief Technical Officer of Condor, this new connection reinforces the airline\u2019s growth strategy for long-haul routes to Asia: “With the launch of the Sanya route, Condor continues the strategic expansion of its long-haul network in Asia. Thanks to the close and reliable collaboration with Sanya Phoenix International Airport and the Sanya Tourism Board, we have created an attractive offering for European travelers while opening new opportunities for Chinese visitors eager to explore our European network.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Partnership for Responsible Tourism<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The launch of this route is not an isolated event. In March 2025, Condor signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sanya Tourism Board and Sanya Phoenix International Airport. This agreement outlines the framework for air operations and also includes active collaboration to promote responsible tourism and protect the island\u2019s cultural heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sanya, known for its tropical beaches and luxury resorts, is positioning itself as an attractive option for European travelers seeking exotic destinations with high-quality infrastructure. At the same time, the new route will make it easier for Chinese tourists to access European destinations within Condor\u2019s network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this addition, the German airline continues to diversify its intercontinental offerings, focusing on destinations that combine tourist appeal, institutional cooperation, and growth potential for both inbound and outbound air traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
