The Dominican airline Arajet<\/strong> continues to climb the ranks in Latin America\u2019s aviation market. In the first six months of 2025, the company transported 531,608 passengers, excluding over 100,000 connecting travelers. This figure represents a 29% increase compared to the same period the previous year, setting a semiannual record for an airline in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arajet Dominates the National Market<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to data published by the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), Dominican airlines mobilized 624,706 passengers between January and June 2025. Of this total, Arajet accounted for more than 85%, solidifying its role as the country\u2019s leading air operator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When including transit passengers, the airline reached a total volume of over 635,000 passengers during the semester. This positions Arajet as the most active Dominican airline operating from Las Am\u00e9ricas International Airport and Punta Cana International Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Relevance in Tourism<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Tourism ranked Arajet as the fifth most important airline worldwide for transporting tourists to the Dominican Republic, underscoring its strategic role in boosting national tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Top-Performing Routes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Among Arajet\u2019s busiest routes in the first half of the year were Medell\u00edn, Bogot\u00e1, Miami, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, and Lima\u2014all key cities in the region and strategic hubs for continental connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sustainable Growth Projections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Victor Pacheco, CEO and founder of Arajet, expressed satisfaction with the results and emphasized that this growth is part of a clear strategy: \u201cWe are intensely focused on turning the Dominican Republic into a logistical hub that can contribute to the country\u2019s tourism and trade development, enhancing its competitiveness in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In line with this vision, Arajet plans to sustain this growth by adding new routes to Newark, Miami, and San Juan. Starting in the last quarter of the year, the airline will also offer connections from the Dominican Republic to Orlando, Boston, and Chicago in the United States, as well as C\u00f3rdoba in Argentina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
