The decision stems from a combination of operational factors aimed at ensuring the stability and efficiency of its long-haul network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fleet Modernization Impact<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The primary reason behind this suspension is a temporary shortage of available aircraft. This increases route durations and adds operational complexity, posing a logistical challenge for the airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Alternatives for Passengers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Passengers with bookings to or from Washington D.C. after September 1 will be contacted directly by Air India. They will be offered options such as rebooking on alternative flights or a full refund, based on their preference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those wishing to retain their destination can do so via connecting flights through four U.S. cities: New York (JFK), Newark (EWR), Chicago, and San Francisco. Thanks to interline agreements with Alaska Airlines, United Airlines, and Delta Air Lines, passengers can travel on a single ticket and check their baggage through to their final destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Presence in North America<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the suspension of the Washington D.C. route, Air India will continue operating non-stop
