The Board of Directors of Brussels Airlines<\/strong> has approved the addition of five more Airbus A320neo<\/strong> aircraft to its fleet, which will bring the total number of this new-generation model to 13 in the coming years. This decision reflects the airline’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint, improving the travel experience, and achieving profitable and sustainable growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company currently operates five A320neo units and expects to receive three more in the coming months. The next delivery, from the Airbus facility in Toulouse, is scheduled for November. The five newly approved aircraft will arrive starting in 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brussels Airlines CEO, Dorothea von Boxberg, emphasized: “Brussels Airlines has worked very hard to achieve a cost structure that allows us to be sustainably profitable, which gives us the ability to reinvest in the company. The A320neo reduces our environmental footprint and offers a more pleasant experience for our passengers. We are very pleased to be receiving more of these state-of-the-art aircraft.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Environmental and Passenger Benefits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Airbus A320neo has established itself as a benchmark for operational efficiency. It offers up to 20% lower CO\u2082 emissions compared to previous models and generates 50% less noise, resulting in quieter flights and a reduced environmental impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the cabin, passengers will notice practical improvements: the overhead bins provide 40% more space for carry-on luggage, facilitating a smoother and more comfortable boarding process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company will use these aircraft primarily to replace older-generation planes, though one will be dedicated to the net growth of the fleet. The A320 family is deployed on short- and medium-haul routes within Brussels Airlines’ European and regional network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Long-Term Vision: Fleet and Service Investment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The modernization plan is not limited to European flights. Brussels Airlines plans to expand its long-haul fleet to reach 13 Airbus A330 aircraft. Furthermore, starting in 2027, it will introduce refurbished cabins on its intercontinental network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline also announced the remodeling of its flagship lounge at Brussels Airport, THE LOFT, renowned for its design and services. This investment aims to solidify the company’s position as a leader in connectivity, comfort, and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
