On Saturday morning, Lufthansa’s first Boeing 787-9 <\/strong>equipped with the new Allegris cabin landed at Frankfurt Airport, arriving from Seattle. This addition marks the beginning of a new era for passengers traveling from the German airline\u2019s main hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toronto, First Destination for the New 787-9<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft will begin operating routes between Frankfurt and Toronto starting in mid-October. Lufthansa is scheduled to receive up to nine additional units of this model before the end of the year, meaning a delivery approximately every two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jens Ritter, CEO of Lufthansa Airlines, emphasized the importance of this arrival:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am particularly pleased that we can now offer our customers the premium Allegris experience in Frankfurt as well. With the landing of the Boeing 787-9, the modernization of our long-haul fleet at our largest hub receives a decisive boost. This will allow us to operate much quieter and more fuel-efficient aircraft, equipped with the latest technology for our passengers in Frankfurt.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Efficiency and Sustainability in the Air<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Boeing 787-9, known as the \u201cDreamliner,\u201d is distinguished by its low fuel consumption: approximately 2.5 liters of kerosene per passenger every 100 kilometers of flight, representing a reduction of about 25% compared to its predecessor. Lufthansa has ordered a total of 29 units of this model. Overall, the company expects to have 78 long-haul aircraft with Allegris in the coming years, the largest fleet renewal in its history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Renewed Travel Experience with Allegris<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Allegris cabin raises the standard of comfort in all classes. In Business Class, passengers now enjoy private suites that offer greater privacy thanks to chest-high walls, 27-inch screens, ample storage space, individual closets, and a personal minibar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Business, Premium Economy, and Economy Class seats are already available for booking, while the Allegris seats on the Boeing Dreamliner will become available as soon as the certification process is completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Allegris product has already been in operation on long-haul flights from Munich since the summer of 2024. So far, over half a million travelers have enjoyed this experience across all classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
