Wingo<\/strong> closed the first half of 2025 with solid results in the Colombian air market. The airline transported 1,682,000 passengers, of which 1,150,000 corresponded to domestic flights and 532,000 to international operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to data from Aerocivil, the company achieved a market share of 7%, equivalent to an increase of 1.8 percentage points compared to the same period in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boost in the Domestic Market<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The strongest growth was seen in its domestic network, where Wingo reported a 20% increase in passengers carried compared to the previous year. This growth was supported by the launch of the Bucaramanga\u2013Santa Marta route in March and by increased frequencies to destinations in the Colombian Caribbean, such as San Andr\u00e9s, Barranquilla, Cartagena, and Santa Marta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Strategy and Expansion from Medell\u00edn<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the international segment, the airline strengthened its presence thanks to routes launched in late 2024 from Medell\u00edn to Cura\u00e7ao and San Jos\u00e9, Costa Rica. With this move, the capital of Antioquia has positioned itself as one of the main hubs for inbound and outbound foreign tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2192 Wingo Bets on Caribbean: Extends Medell\u00edn\u2013Cura\u00e7ao Route Until December 2025<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wingo’s CEO, Eduardo Lombana, stated: “This first half reflects the strength of our low-cost model and Colombians’ preference for traveling at competitive prices. For the remainder of 2025, we expect to maintain our growth trajectory, connecting millions of travelers with unique experiences across our route network in Colombia and Latin America, always with affordable fares and a customer-focused service.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Product and Service Innovation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During this period, the company launched Wingo Market, a platform that allows passengers to choose and pay for their onboard meals before their flight. This option offers prices 15% lower than those available in the cabin and includes products from Colombian entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s Coming in the Second Half of 2025<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Increased Domestic Frequencies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between July and December, Wingo will increase frequencies from Bogot\u00e1 to Armenia, Bucaramanga, Cali, and Cartagena, in addition to reinforcing flights from Medell\u00edn to Cartagena and Santa Marta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New International Routes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On October 27, 2025, the new Bogot\u00e1\u2013Guatemala City route will take off, with three weekly frequencies and nearly 40,000 seats available through June 2026. With this operation, the airline will become the only low-cost carrier in Colombia offering a direct connection to Guatemala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exclusive Experiences: Hidden Destination<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

October will also see the second edition of “Hidden Destination,” an innovative offering in which 372 passengers will discover their destination upon landing. This time, there will be flights from Bogot\u00e1 and Medell\u00edn to a destination not commercially served from Colombia, raising travelers’ expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evolution of Ancillary Products<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The company plans to expand its range of ancillary services, including more baggage options and improvements to the “Seats Together” product. This feature ensures that bookings for two people automatically receive adjacent seats during preselection, offering savings of up to 40% compared to individual seat purchases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With these results, Wingo reaffirms its position as Colombia’s most robust low-cost airline, with an efficient operational model, competitive fares, and a continuously evolving portfolio of services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
