The Iberia Group<\/strong>\u2014comprised of Iberia, Iberia Express, and Air Nostrum\u2014closed the summer season with unprecedented operational figures. Between June 27 and August 31, a total of 34,259 flights were operated, equivalent to over 6 million seats offered, solidifying its position as a leader in national and international air connectivity from Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of this total, 4,560 were long-haul routes, while over 29,500 focused on short- and medium-haul flights. Madrid stood as the epicenter of operations, with nearly 17,191 flights scheduled from Barajas Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This summer we have achieved historic operational figures, reflecting Iberia’s firm commitment to improving air connectivity and the customer experience,” stated Ramiro Sequeira, Director of Production at Iberia, who also highlighted the professionalism and dedication of the staff during the peak activity months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Latin America and United States: Sustained Growth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The reinforcement of the intercontinental network marked a new milestone in Latin America, where Iberia made 3.2 million seats available, a 4% increase compared to 2023. This deployment resulted in over 300 weekly flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the United States, the airline also recorded significant progress: 140 weekly flights, representing a 14% increase compared to the previous summer, and a total offering of 1.1 million seats for the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expansion in Europe and Return to Summer Destinations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the short- and medium-haul market, growth was concentrated in strategic markets such as France and Italy. Furthermore, Iberia reinstated highly sought-after summer routes: Catania, Olbia, Cagliari, and Palermo in Italy; Dubrovnik, Zagreb, and Split in Croatia; Santorini, Mykonos, and Corfu in Greece; as well as Ljubljana and Tirana in Eastern Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reinforcement with Charter Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Group complemented its scheduled programming with over 160 charter flights, primarily during weekends and holiday periods. A significant portion of this operation was dedicated to supporting cruise logistics, connecting with key ports in the Mediterranean and Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Destinations served by these flights included Hamburg, Athens, Catania, Bari, Venice, Skopje, Trieste, and Istanbul, thereby expanding the offering and responding to market dynamism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most Popular Summer Destinations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This summer, travelers favored classic sun-and-beach destinations in Spain: Barcelona, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Palma de Mallorca, and Ibiza were the most requested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within Europe, the top destinations were London, Paris, and Rome, while in Latin America, Bogot\u00e1 and Mexico City stood out as the most chosen by the group’s customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
