Alaska Airlines<\/strong> continues to expand its global footprint with a brand-new destination: nonstop flights to Reykjavik, Iceland<\/strong>, starting May 28, 2026. The company will offer daily seasonal service from its international hub in Seattle, inviting travelers to explore the unique landscapes of the North Atlantic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith the addition of Reykjavik, we are expanding our international presence and offering our guests the opportunity to discover the natural magic of Iceland, with the quality of service they already know and appreciate,\u201d said Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning at Alaska Airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Easier Connections to Europe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The new route integrates with Icelandair’s more than 35 daily flights from the Icelandic capital to Europe, facilitating combined itineraries thanks to the strengthened bilateral codeshare agreement between the two airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The launch of this new route coincides with the tenth anniversary of the Alaska-Icelandair alliance, which will allow passengers to purchase tickets on a single itinerary and enjoy greater comfort and flexibility. Furthermore, travelers in First Class or with Atmos\u2122 Rewards Gold, Platinum, or Titanium status will have access to the Saga Lounge at Keflav\u00edk Airport, adding comfort to European connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIcelandair has a network of nearly 60 destinations across the North Atlantic. Connecting it with Alaska’s strong presence on the U.S. West Coast multiplies the connection opportunities between North America and Europe,\u201d highlighted Bogi Nils Bogason, president and CEO of Icelandair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An additional detail: <\/strong>Iceland will be one of the best places on the planet to witness the 2026 solar eclipse, and Alaska will offer privileged access with its new direct flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
