ITA Airways and United Airlines<\/strong> have announced a new codeshare agreement aimed at enhancing air connectivity between Italy and the United States. Tickets under this arrangement are already available, and the flights will begin operating starting September 15th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This move reinforces ITA Airways’ expansion strategy, which focuses on increasing long-haul connections and diversifying intercontinental destinations from its Rome Fiumicino hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joerg Eberhart, CEO and Managing Director of ITA Airways, highlighted the importance of this step for the company: “The agreement with United Airlines represents a significant advancement in our strategy to expand our network to new intercontinental destinations. We are consolidating our presence in the U.S. market\u2014our second most relevant after the domestic one\u2014by offering more options to reach additional cities in the U.S. through our new strategic partner. Likewise, we will welcome North American passengers on our flights from Rome Fiumicino to Italian and international destinations. This initiative is part of a growth plan that will continue with our integration into Star Alliance in 2026, as part of the process of joining the Lufthansa Group.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
