{"id":178855,"date":"2025-09-11T14:00:49","date_gmt":"2025-09-11T14:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/?p=178855"},"modified":"2025-09-11T20:37:06","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T20:37:06","slug":"qantas-puts-tickets-on-sale-for-its-first-airbus-a321xlr-flights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2025\/09\/qantas-puts-tickets-on-sale-for-its-first-airbus-a321xlr-flights.html","title":{"rendered":"Qantas Puts Tickets on Sale for Its First Airbus A321XLR Flights"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Qantas <\/strong>announced that starting today, passengers can now book seats on its first <strong>Airbus A321XLR <\/strong>flights\u2014a key milestone in the largest fleet renewal program in the group\u2019s history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first two aircraft, named Great Ocean Road (VH-OGA) and Outback Way (VH-OGB), will debut on September 25 on the Sydney\u2013Perth and Sydney\u2013Melbourne routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Inaugural flight schedule:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>QF645: <\/strong>Sydney Departure 10:35 \u2013 Perth Arrival 13:35<br><strong>QF650: <\/strong>Perth Departure 14:35 \u2013 Sydney Arrival 20:40<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>QF467:<\/strong> Sydney Departure 16:20 \u2013 Melbourne Arrival 17:55<br><strong>QF484:<\/strong> Melbourne Departure 18:50 \u2013 Sydney Arrival 20:15<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More Comfort and Onboard Capacity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>These aircraft will bring notable improvements for customers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wider seats and larger windows.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fast and free Wi-Fi on all flights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Overhead bins with 60% more carry-on capacity compared to the Boeing 737 they are replacing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Qantas Domestic CEO Markus Svensson highlighted that Australian travelers will be the first in the Asia-Pacific region to fly on the state-of-the-art A321XLR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2025\/09\/qantas-to-nearly-double-capacity-on-perth-rome-route-for-2026.html\">Qantas to Nearly Double Capacity on Perth-Rome Route for 2026<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe inaugural flight will take off from Sydney to Perth, offering customers their first taste of the comfort, space, and connectivity these aircraft provide,\u201d said Svensson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Greater Range and New Routes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the main advantages of this model is its range of 8,700 km\u20143,000 km more than the 737. This will allow Qantas to operate both domestic and short- to medium-haul international routes, including destinations in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands that were previously not viable with the narrow-body fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the third A321XLR, named Seven Peaks Walk (VH-OGC), left the paint shop in Hamburg this month and is expected to arrive in Australia in November. The company plans to have seven aircraft of this type before the end of the current financial year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fleet Expansion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In parallel, Qantas announced it will expand its order to 48 A321XLR aircraft. Of these, 16 will be configured with lie-flat Business class seats and personal entertainment screens, enabling more comfortable operations on transcontinental routes from Perth and short- to
