The failure brought both domestic and international aviation to a halt, according to a report by Luis Diego Sabor\u00edo, Deputy Director of Civil Aviation, to the Reuters news agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Affected International Airports<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Transport confirmed that the country&#8217;s two main airports were directly impacted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Juan Santamaria, located on the outskirts of San Jose.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Daniel Oduber Quiros, in the province of Guanacaste.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Both terminals, crucial for the country&#8217;s connectivity with the region, later reported via their social media channels that operations had resumed once the radar system was restored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2025\/09\/panama-tocumen-airport-surpasses-13-7-million-passengers-in-first-eight-months-of-2025.html\">Panama: Tocumen Airport Surpasses 13.7 Million Passengers in First Eight Months of 2025<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Over 40 Flights Disrupted<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Aeris, the concessionaire managing Juan Santamaria International Airport, detailed that at least 44 flights were directly affected by the blackout. This airport, which serves as a hub for multiple destinations in Latin America, was one of the hardest hit by the emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Investigation to Prevent Future Incidents<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement, the Minister of Transport, Efrain Zeledon, announced that an official investigation will be opened to determine the exact causes of the power failure and to
