According to official data from the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC), 4,324,805 passengers were recorded at airports across the country, the highest level for that month since records began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This figure not only surpassed the August 2019 record (4,096,273) by 6%, but also represented a 13% growth compared to August 2024, when 3,825,677 passengers were counted. With these numbers, Argentine air transport confirms a full recovery and a trend of constant expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rising International Traffic<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A milestone was also reached in the international market. During August, 1,303,927 passengers traveled on international flights, a figure representing an 11% increase compared to 2019 (1,170,769) and a 19% increase compared to 2024 (1,095,473).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The greater number of international routes and frequencies was a key factor in achieving this historic performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Domestic Flights Boosted by Local Tourism<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On domestic flights, 3,020,878 passengers were transported, which is 11% more than in August 2024 (2,730,204). This growth was primarily sustained by domestic tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, 34,542 aircraft movements were recorded, surpassing operations from the same month last year (31,568) by 9%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2025\/09\/argentina-ezeiza-airport-prepares-to-welcome-china-eastern-airlines-flights.html\">Argentina: Ezeiza Airport Prepares to Welcome China Eastern Airlines Flights<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Airports with Highest Growth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Several airports in the country showed notable increases in international passengers compared to 2024:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bariloche: +73%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rosario: +69%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Salta: +60%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>C\u00f3rdoba: +57%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Factors Behind the Upswing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In Bariloche, the start of Azul Linhas A\u00e9reas&#8217; seasonal routes to Belo Horizonte and Porto Alegre in June 2025 solidified the destination as one of the most attractive during the winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rosario benefited from the return of LATAM Per\u00fa&#8217;s connection to Lima in December 2024 and the opening of Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas&#8217; route to Punta Cana in January 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In C\u00f3rdoba, growth was driven by the start of Avianca&#8217;s route to Bogot\u00e1 in June 2025, the opening of GOL&#8217;s connection to Recife, the reactivation of its route to Sao Paulo in April 2025, and the return of Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas&#8217; connection with Punta Cana in September 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More International Connections Bypassing Buenos Aires<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During August, 199,763 passengers traveled directly from regional airports on international flights, without needing to connect through the capital. This figure was 45% higher than in August 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the routes that grew the most were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bariloche &#8212; Sao Paulo: +133%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mendoza &#8212; Panama City: +49%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>C\u00f3rdoba &#8212; Panama City: +48%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mendoza &#8212; Santiago de Chile: +11%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Impact of Open Skies Policies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The sustained growth reflects the positive impact of deregulation and Open Skies policies promoted by the National Government.
