Norwegian<\/strong> has announced the opening of new routes for the summer 2026 season, which will connect Spain with Denmark. The airline is expanding its network with direct flights from Barcelona and Gran Canaria to Billund<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magnus Thome Maursund, Chief Commercial Officer of Norwegian, highlighted the significance of this move: “We are very pleased to open new summer routes from Spain to Denmark. Billund is one of the most popular family destinations in Scandinavia, known for its multiple attractions and famous theme parks. It is the home of LEGOLAND, making it a perfect destination for families from all over the world. Barcelona and Gran Canaria are now closer than ever for Danes looking to enjoy Spanish beaches, cultural attractions, and the taste of Spanish tapas.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Details of the New Routes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

– Barcelona – Billund<\/strong>
Two weekly frequencies.
Will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Effective: from April 1 to October 24, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Gran Canaria – Billund<\/strong>
One weekly frequency.
Will operate on Mondays.
Effective: from March 30 to October 19, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Billund: The Danish Capital of Play and Creativity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Located in the heart of the Jutland peninsula, Billund is renowned as the birthplace of LEGO and home to one of Denmark’s most visited parks: LEGOLAND. This is complemented by LEGO House, an interactive space dedicated to the iconic building brick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The city also offers water parks, zoos, natural spaces ideal for outdoor activities, and a modern airport with excellent connections, making it a strategic point for exploring the entire region. Its blend of leisure, culture, and nature has established Billund as an essential destination in Northern Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strengthening the Network Between Spain and Denmark<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In addition to these new routes, Norwegian maintains year-round direct flights from Billund to Malaga and Alicante, as well as a summer connection with Palma de Mallorca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simultaneously, the airline will continue to operate its summer services from various Spanish airports to Copenhagen, Aarhus, and Aalborg, thus expanding options for passengers traveling between Spain and Denmark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
