Airbus<\/strong> concluded September with 73 aircraft delivered, a figure that marks a record for that month in its entire history, according to industry sources. The result exceeded analyst expectations, which had forecast between 69 and 70 units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rebound is notable when compared to the 50 deliveries in the same month of 2024, and also means the cumulative total since January now surpasses the total for the same period last year. Specifically, between January and September, Airbus reached 507 deliveries, a 2% increase compared to the 497 in the same period in 2024. It is worth recalling that at mid-year the trend was negative, with a 5% decline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Ambitious Goal for 2025<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

September’s performance has placed the company in a key position: to meet its annual target of 820 deliveries, Airbus will need to achieve 313 deliveries between October and December. This would be a historic fourth quarter, as it would represent a 16% increase compared to the same period in 2024. The company’s current record for a fourth quarter dates back to 2018, with 297 aircraft delivered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rob Morris, an independent analyst, warned that the pressure will be intense, although he highlighted that the progress made in September opens a window for optimism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Improvement in Engine Deliveries, a Key Factor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the factors explaining the better performance has been a reduction in delays in engine supplies, primarily from CFM. According to Jefferies, which estimated September deliveries at 69, the month reflected a clear improvement compared to the previous year, suggesting a relief in the supply chain. For its part, the analysis firm Cirium provisionally put September deliveries at 70, an estimate very close to the final result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Production of the A320 family, Airbus’s flagship model, had been limited precisely by engine shortages. Despite these difficulties, the company is moving forward with its plans to increase deliveries to 75 units per month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the Verge of a Milestone in Commercial Aviation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Beyond this year’s figures, Airbus is at a decisive moment for the industry. According to Morris, the company is very close to matching \u2014or even surpassing\u2014 the cumulative deliveries of the Boeing 737, with more than 12,250 units each. If confirmed, the A320 would become the best-selling commercial aircraft of all time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European manufacturer will publish its official order and delivery figures on October 8, a report awaited by analysts and investors to gauge the company’s momentum in the final stretch of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
