The Aena Group<\/strong>, which includes 46 airports and two heliports in Spain, London Luton Airport, and 17 airports in Brazil, closed September 2025 with 35,760,852 passengers<\/strong>, an increase of 2.7% compared to the same month last year. During the month, 299,292 aircraft movements were managed (+2.4%), and 132,905 tons of cargo were transported, a significant growth of 9.9% compared to 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between January and September, the group’s airports accumulated 294.1 million travelers, 4.1% more than in the same period of 2024. Operations amounted to 2.49 million flights (+2.4%), and freight traffic reached 1.1 million tons (+6.9%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spain: Sustained Growth and New Records<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The airports in the Spanish network closed September with 30,406,145 passengers, 2.5% more than a year earlier. Aircraft movements also increased to 249,904 (+4.1%), and cargo transport reached 118,549 tons, which is 9% more than in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Madrid-Barajas and Barcelona-El Prat, Traffic Leaders<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Adolfo Su\u00e1rez Madrid-Barajas Airport remained at the forefront with 5,922,644 passengers (+1.2%), followed by Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 5,279,003 (+4.3%). They are followed by Palma de Mallorca (4,113,337; +0.9%), Malaga-Costa del Sol (2,626,561; +5%), Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernandez (1,907,274; +5.9%), Ibiza (1,227,406; +0.6%), Gran Canaria (1,186,060; +6.2%), and Valencia (1,071,198; +1.2%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best September in 17 Airports<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The ninth month of 2025 was the best September for the entire network and for 17 infrastructures, including Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona-El Prat, Palma de Mallorca, Malaga, Alicante, Ibiza, Gran Canaria, Valencia, Seville, Bilbao, Tenerife Norte, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma, Melilla, La Gomera, and the Ceuta heliport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rising Operations and Cargo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Madrid-Barajas led operations with 36,639 flights (+0.5%), followed by Barcelona-El Prat (32,402; +2.3%), Palma de Mallorca (28,219; +0.1%), and Malaga (17,656; +4.5%). In cargo, Barajas again topped the ranking with 71,859 tons (+10.4%), while Barcelona-El Prat reached 17,436 tons (+18.5%), Zaragoza 16,468 tons (-2%), and Vitoria 5,819 tons (+2.1%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was the best September in the history of cargo traffic both nationally and at the Madrid and Barcelona airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cumulative Figures for Spain<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Between January and September, Aena’s airports in Spain totaled 247,101,409 passengers (+3.9%), 2,061,078 flights (+4.2%), and 980,804 tons of cargo (+6.1%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brazil: Passenger Growth and Strong Cargo Push<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The 17 Aena Brazil airports handled 3,764,649 passengers in September (+4.1%) and 11,828 tons of cargo (+23.8%), despite a 7.3% reduction in operations (37,120 flights).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ANB Group: Recife as a Regional Driver<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group of six ANB airports recorded 1,384,487 passengers (+7.5%). Recife Airport accounted for 822,533 passengers (+5.6%) and 6,911 flights (-9.3%), transporting 4,862 tons of cargo (+19.9%) out of the group’s total of 6,252 tons (+26.9%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BOAB Group: Congonhas Leads in S\u00e3o Paulo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The eleven airports in the BOAB group served 2,380,162 passengers (+2.2%). Congonhas Airport concentrated most of the traffic, with 2,020,539 passengers (+3.4%) and 17,794 flights (-7.5%). In cargo, the group transported 5,575 tons (+20.5%), of which 4,853 were managed at Congonhas (+31%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

January-September Cumulative in Brazil<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the first nine months of 2025, Aena’s airports in Brazil totaled 33,579,514 passengers (+5.4%), 335,055 operations (-7.5%), and 96,941 tons of cargo (+18.9%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

London-Luton: Passenger Increase Despite Slight Cargo Dip<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

London Luton Airport closed September with 1,590,058 passengers (+3.3%), 12,268 movements (+1.7%), and 2,528 tons of cargo (-2.9%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far this year, the British airport has welcomed 13,445,256 passengers (+4.8%), operated 102,989 flights (+2%), and transported 22,445 tons of cargo (-3.3%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
