Spanish airline Iberia<\/strong> continues to strengthen its European network with the addition of two new destinations for the summer of 2026: Bucharest, Romania, and Tivat, Montenegro<\/strong>. Both seasonal routes are part of the company’s growth strategy driven by its Flight Plan 2030, which aims to consolidate Madrid as a major international connection hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Madrid – Bucharest: A Link to Heart of Eastern Europe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From June 3rd until September 30th, 2026, Iberia will operate two weekly frequencies (Wednesdays and Sundays) between Madrid and Bucharest. The Romanian capital, considered one of the most attractive emerging destinations in Eastern Europe, is experiencing growing tourist interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new connection not only expands travel options for the summer but will also facilitate links to North America and Latin America through the airline’s hub in Madrid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Madrid – Tivat: Adriatic Joins Iberia’s Map<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The airline will also debut in Montenegro with a route to Tivat, an increasingly popular coastal destination on the Adriatic Sea. This connection will have two weekly frequencies (Tuesdays and Saturdays) and will be active from July 18th to September 15th, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new route offers travelers a summer alternative to the traditional Mediterranean, broadening the diversity of Iberia’s network. Tivat has established itself as a booming tourist destination, with natural landscapes, modern infrastructure, and a privileged location next to Kotor, a city declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Return of Seasonal Routes and Reinforcement of Key Destinations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During the summer season, Iberia will resume several routes and increase frequencies on other strategic European destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Croatia once again stands out as one of the countries with the strongest presence in the seasonal network. Flights to Dubrovnik will operate from April to October with up to 14 weekly frequencies, while Zagreb and Split will each reach nine weekly frequencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Italy, Iberia will resume its flights to Catania (up to eight weekly frequencies) and Palermo (three weekly), in addition to maintaining connections with Olbia (up to five) and Cagliari (three) in Sardinia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Greek market, the company will offer flights to Corfu and Mykonos (up to seven weekly) and to Santorini (up to six). Furthermore, routes to Funchal (Madeira), Ponta Delgada (Azores), Tirana (Albania), and Ljubljana (Slovenia) will return, with frequencies ranging from two to five per week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
