Wingo<\/strong>, a subsidiary of Copa Holdings, has unveiled its latest advancement in safety and training: the implementation of a Virtual Reality (VR) training program for its cabin crews. This tool aims to strengthen emergency response, standardize procedures, and optimize training times, thereby elevating the airline’s operational standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Pioneer in the Use of Virtual Reality in Colombia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With this initiative, Wingo becomes the first airline in Colombia to complement its personnel training with immersive VR experiences. This system helps accelerate the learning curve and improve decision-making in high-pressure situations, a key step towards enhancing operational safety in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Immersive Training and Real-Time Measurement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The program incorporates realistic simulations and instant assessments of critical scenarios, such as ground and water evacuations, firefighting, cabin decompression, and verification of emergency equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the system enables objective evaluations and standardized processes, ensuring a uniform level of preparedness among teams, with flexible access so each member can progress at their own pace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Safety as a Priority<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

“Safety is at the heart of our operation, and the proper training of our crews guarantees it. This initiative allows us to train more and better, with simulations that replicate the real environment, objective assessments, and standardized processes to ensure the safety of our passengers in an emergency,” explained Paola Martinez, Director of Passenger Services at Wingo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By integrating virtual reality into its training model, Wingo takes a firm step towards a new standard of aviation training in Colombia. The company aims to build better-prepared crews, more consistent responses, and more precise decisions in any critical situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
